Born in 1957 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Lučka Koščak graduated in English, Slovene and Serbo-Croatian languages at the Pedagogic Academy of Ljubljana in 1981. She then taught English and Slovene in Motovun (Croatia), besides conducting creative workshops for children.
Through her work with children, Lučka discovered her thirst for artistic expression and creativity, which lead her to enter the Art Academy of Ljubljana, where she studied sculpture under Prof. Drago Trsar, in 1985.
She then continued her art studies at École Supérieure d'Arts Visuels in Geneva, Switzerland, where she graduated on "Three Dimensional Expression", in 1991, followed by two years of post-graduate program on "Creativity".
Creating mostly between Geneva and Ljubljana, Lučka participated in international snow sculpture symposiums, conducted creative workshops and realized many commissioned public sculptures.
Her art work can be found in various environments, including churches and chapels (Zvewegem in Belgium, Zalna in Slovenia), public parks (Grosuplje, Maribor, Izola…), at the headquarters of international organisations (ITU and UNHCR in Geneva, Switzerland), not to mention private collections and galleries around the world.

Lučka also represented Slovenia in many occasions, such as the Hannover Universal Exposition in Germany, and taught a sculpture Masterclass in St.Petersburg, Russia.
Author of many public sculptures in Slovenia, she initiated the idea of "Grosuplje - City of sculpture" in 2004, and was commissioned to install three giant sculptures in the city public space.
Besides plastic arts, Lučka embraced other fields of creative expression such as theatre, photography, film and dance. Part of her work rejoins the concept of art therapy.
Mother of two children, she was always engaged in social, solidarity and humanitarian actions as well as initiatives to promote peace.
